Pan-African Flag
The Pan-African flag was created in 1920 to represent people of the African Diaspora and to symbolize black liberation in the United States. As flags symbolize the union of governance, people, and territory, this flag was created to give Black people in America and the world over a symbol that unifies the Diaspora. This tri-color flag consists of three equal horizontal bands colored Red, Black, and Green
Red: The blood that unites all people of all shades of Black African ancestry, and the blood shed of our ancestors for freedom & liberation.
Black: For our people whose existence as a nation, though not a nation-state, is affirmed by the existence of the color of our skin and the curl or our hair and the flag.
Green: The abundant and vibrant natural wealth of our lands including Africa, the Motherland. The ability to harvest food and herbs that feeds the bold in our veins.
Since its existence, a number of African nations have adopted the colors as a symbol of sovereignty and unity. It has also been adopted by several Black organizations that carry on the fight towards Freedom, Justice and liberation for all shades of Nubian Aka Black people.
This should be a proud display of the Pan African Flag for all that it stands for. The hurt and pain caused on or Nubians brothers and sisters that we still have to deal with today and to honor the manny the fought for all the Black Excellence that you see today. This Flag is often displayed during the month of February. Black History Month.
